FLC PARENT TESTIMONIALS
"Since our daughter started in the toddler room 4 years ago and as she moved into preschool, we couldn't be happier with the amazing education and the thoughtful staff at Family Learning Center. Whether it has been the education on growing vegetables and other plants in the summer, the programs through Walking Mountains Science Center or the bilingual curriculum, we have watched our daughter learn, grow and excel thanks to those amazing teachers. The affordability of Family Learning Center's early childhood education is almost unheard of in the Vail Valley, and really gives low income families a chance to give their children a quality education within their means. We love being a part of the Family Learning Center family, and appreciate the service they provide the children and families in this valley."- Parent of a FLC Preschooler
"Our son started coming to FLC when he was 10 months old. We like that he is exposed to both English AND Spanish. All of the teachers we’ve been with so far have taken the time to recognize his personal preferences and his character. FLC is unique in many ways compared to other childcare facilities in the Valley. I really appreciate the teachers’ honest opinions and advice on my son’s development. We like to do different activities at home and the open communication with the teachers allows me to choose appropriate and similar activities." - Parent of a FLC preschooler
"I am the parent of a young toddler who is attending the FLC. My child has been here since he was an infant and I cannot say how happy we are that he attends FLC! The program that FLC provides for young children is extraordinary! All the children are taught well and the teachers are outstanding. Without the Family Learning Center, my child would not have the opportunity he has now" -Parent of an FLC Toddler
"I enjoy listening to my son every morning while driving to daycare, mentioning all his classmates' names and teachers names as well. He enjoys every minute at FLC from the moment we walk in, to the moment we step out. He has been attending the Family Learning Center Since he was 3 months old. The transition from infant room to toddler room was process for everyone but we all managed to work together to make it easier for everyone. The communication they have with me as a parent is a amazing. I love how most teachers speaks English and Spanish which helps my son communicate because we are a bilingual family. We are very grateful that we are a part of the FLC family and wish to continue with them. " Parent of an FLC Toddler
Testimonial from Local Kindergarten Teacher
As a Kindergarten teacher in an area where parents have so many childcare options prior to their child attending Kindergarten, I see a lot of kids who have come from schools all over the valley. I have noticed that my students who attended The Family Learning Center are very prepared for Kindergarten. They come in knowing school routines like how to line up, sit down, listen to teachers, etc. I notice that these students also have a lot of background knowledge about the topics we discuss in Kindergarten, have number sense, and know many letter names and sounds. This year, I even have one child who came to me reading leveled books without any reading instruction from me or from home, I was so amazed as this level of books wouldn’t normally be introduced until midway through Kindergarten. Overall, I notice
that there is a smooth transition for FLC students into Kindergarten. The kids seem like they are happy and understand the school environment! - Rachel Lammers Kindergarten Teacher, June Creek Elementary School
